QuickBooks

Metric.ai allows you to export invoices to QuickBooks. Editing invoices in QuickBooks also updates the linked invoice in Metric.ai.

How to Connect

1. Sign in to QuickBooks
2. Sign in to Metric.ai
3. Select Settings from the left menu
4. Open the Integration tab
5. Click the +NEW INTEGRATION button
6. Select QuickBooks from the list of integrations.
   This process could take a couple of minutes.
   
   
7. Wait for the data to appear in Metric.ai. This process could take a couple of hours depending on the number of records.
8. Validate that clients are synchronized correctly.
9. Set the 1:1 mapping between clients/projects in QuickBooks and clients/projects in Metric.ai.
   

Export Invoices to QuickBooks

1. Create an invoice or open an existing invoice in Metric.ai.
   Note: You can't export Paid invoices or invoices without any items.
   
2. If you create an invoice under a project in Metric.ai, make sure that the project is associated with a client.
   
   
3. Click the EXPORT button.
4. Select the QuickBooks integration if you have more than one integration.
   
   
5. If the client on the invoice in Metric is not linked to a client in QuickBooks, then the export allows you to create a new client in QuickBooks and link it to Metric.
   
   

A new invoice with data from Metric will be created and linked in QuickBooks. 

If you edit the invoice in QuickBooks, then the linked invoice in Metric.ai will automatically be updated with the next data sync. You can see when the last data sync was or you can run a force update of the data in Metric from the QuickBooks integration.

You cannot edit a linked invoice in Metric.ai. To edit a linked invoice in Metric.ai, you need to update it in QuickBooks or unlink the invoice.

You can navigate to an invoice in QuickBooks using the link from an invoice in Metric.

Link Invoices in Metric and QuickBooks

1. Make sure that the invoices in Metric and QuickBooks have the same invoice number.
2. Click the EXPORT button.
3. Select the QuickBooks integration if you have more than one integration.
   
   

Your Metric invoice is now linked to the invoice in QuickBooks.

The linked invoice in Metric will be overwritten by data from QuickBooks. Any changes to the invoice in QuickBooks will be updated in Metric with the next data sync.

You cannot edit a linked invoice in Metric. To edit an invoice in Metric.ai, you need to update it in QuickBooks or unlink the invoice.

You can navigate to an invoice in QuickBooks by the link from an invoice in Metric.

Unlink Invoices

1. Go to an invoice in Metric.ai that is linked to an invoice in QuickBooks.
2. Select the UNLINK button.

Unlinking will not delete the invoice in QuickBooks, but the invoice will not be connected to the invoice in Metric anymore. Any changes to the invoice that are made in QuickBooks will no longer be automatically updated in Metric.

You can export an unlinked invoice to the same or another integration again.
